High performance elastomers

Nowadays, elastomers are indispensable as construction elements for the industry. They have been used in nearly all areas for decades, as car ties, tooth belts, conveyor belts, bridge bearings, etc. Therefore we use elastomer-based vibration insulation elements.

High operating temperatures, different environmental conditions, chemical aggressive contact media (oils, acids, lyes), faster machines and increasing demands on efficiency and cost effectiveness are the reasons why engineers today turn to isoloc. Machine bearing elements help reduce among others maintenance costs and thus ensure profitability.

Versatility by special elastomer mixtures

The elastomer mixtures can be adjusted so that e.g. a higher temperature resistance or a special chemical resistance can be attained.

Working load

Because of the high loading capacity of isoloc vibration insulation panels (IPL) there is no need for a full-scale laying under the machines.

The vibration insulation panel IPL30 for example can be loaded with up to 500 N/cm². Thus, machines with a weight of 10.000 kN can also be set-up elastically.

Construction Height

Isoloc vibration insulation panels have a relatively high deflection at even little design heights. Other elements for the purpose of vibration insulation such as steel springs are, due to their design, significantly higher.

Simple setup

The setup of a machine must take place in the shortest amount of time and as easy as possible. With isoloc, an additional anchorage of the machines can be omitted in most of the cases. In connection with the patented UMS machine shoes the alignment of a machine does not require a great effort anymore. This is even possible in the case of presses.

Economic efficiency

Due to high loads, significantly smaller sizes of insulation systems are enough, i.e. the material input is low, and as a consequence the costs of materials can be kept at low levels.

This is very essential in case of forging presses, as press bearings with isoloc press bearing systems prove to be very economic here. Ask us, it's worth it!

Stability of shape and level

The most substantial feature of elastomers is their form stability which is the result of the cross-linking between their basic molecules.

Therefore they are highly reversibly shapeable.

The deformation of an elastomer bearing consists of an elastic deformation, which, depending on load and duration, can go over to a creep. Depending on type and form of the elastomer bearing and the temperature, the creep movement can be more or less distinctive. Isoloc vibration insulation panels have been optimized under consideration of this aspect and provide a very good level stability under high loads (images 1+2).

Elasticity and stiffness

For an effective vibration insulation a low natural frequency of the vibration insulation elements is needed. That means that the rigidity should be as low as possible. During external load application (e.g. by the application of impacts) the vibration insulation element must be able to bend elastically and to return quickly to its original shape (image 2). A special profiling increases the suspension capability even further.

Flexible Design

Isoloc panels can be brought into the right shape and size by sawing, drilling, milling, punching and cutting, in accordance to the contact faces of the machines.
